Happy Card Making Day!

Hello and Happy World Card Making Day!  Isn’t it great that we get to have our very own little holiday?!

Just in case you don’t already know, World Card Making Day is a holiday especially for card makers the world over to celebrate the creativity of handmade cards. It’s also a chance to acknowledge the special relationships we create through our card making with friends, family, and fellow card makers. AND, for many card makers, this day serves as the “Big Kick-off” to the holiday card making season.

Just getting started? Welcome aboard! There’s so much to love about card making and paper crafting. It’s a wonderful way to express your creativity, take a break from stress, have a little fun and learn new things. I hope you’ll be inspired and encouraged along the way – starting right here!

Stampin' Up! Easy Events Greeting Card Idea

Isn’t this card just too stinkin’ cute?!  It was designed by Stampin’ Up! and was part of a special kit we received at the Stampin’ Up! convention in July. It features the Easy Events stamp set, which we also received, and which I happen to really like a lot. It’s cute, it’s versatile, and it covers most occasions. It’s the perfect rubber stamp set for beginning stampers and more experienced stampers will appreciate the fresh, updated artwork.

The cute tree/sentiment image was stamped in Jet Black StazOn ink onto Naturals White card stock; then using a Blender Pen, water-colored with Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip, and Melon Mambo ink. The tree leaves were outlined using a 2-Way Glue Pen, then sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter for a touch of sparkle. Can you see the sparkle? Hmmm.  (Click on the photo to enlarge. HIP TIP: The Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack is not only a great value; it works overtime with just a little creative thinking! The tiny heart shape was created using the flower punch from the Punch Pack. Just snip off two petals and you’ve got a tiny heart! See the notches in the corners of the Wild Wasabi layer? No special punch needed – the notches were created using the circle punch from the Punch Pack! Clever, yes?

I love the White Baker’s Twine wrapped around the edges of the Wild Wasabi. What a cute idea. I’ll be using that exact technique in the future.

If you would like step-by-step instructions to make this card, please comment below or contact me via email – I’ll be happy to share them with you! The supply list for this card is listed below.

I hope you are having a fabulous day and creating a card or two (or more!) to celebrate World Card Making Day. Thanks for peeking in here at Stampingville!
