Merry Christmas Trees

Stampin' Up! Pennant Parade Christmas Card

This simple card gets a WOW by focusing on a few little details and non-traditional colors. These merry little christmas trees are a snap to create thanks to the Pennant Parade stamp set along with the coordinating Petite Pennants Builder Punch.

After stamping the trees onto Whisper White scraps, I simply punched them out using the Builder Punch. I couldn't resist doing at least one card with actual pearls on the tree, so this seemed the perfect opportunity. This is so easy using the connected strip of pearls in the package of Basic Pearls Jewels. I didn't want the other trees to feel left out, so they got Basic Rhinestone Jewels. Hee!

The splotchy looking background (much prettier in person) was created using the Color Spritzer Tool and a More Mustard Stampin' Write Marker. This was followed by a few spritzes of Champagne Mist Shimmer Spray. I keep a bottle of prepared Shimmer Spray close at hand and it goes on LOTS of projects. (Need the recipe? Christmas Card Embellishment Detail Stampin' Up!

Notice the tiny green scallop border? Easily created with just a strip of Garden Green card stock and the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. It's positioned so just the tiny scallops are showing. The ribbon is actually the new Scallop Dots Ribbon (super cute!), but I turned it over to the solid side. I love that - it's like getting two ribbons in one! The "merry" was stamped on a scrap of Whisper White; cropped using the Jewelry Tag punch; then tied with Early Espresso/White Baker's Twine.

What do you think? Ahem. Comments? Hello? Tap, tap . . . this thing on?

I really like how the card turned out - color combo and all - but I'm sure it would be pretty in other colors as well. Give it a whirl and let me know what you come up with!
