A Pretty Blossom Birthday Card

Hand-Stamped Birthday Card with Pretty Blossoms

Yay! I have cards and projects to share with you from our team "shoebox swap" held recently, and the girls came up with great ideas (as usual). Incidentally, my simple "thinking of you" card, (posted on Monday) was my swap card, but I neglected to mention it.

Today's clever card, created by Kathie L, has lots of great details that are easy to duplicate. Creating your own coordinating "patterned paper" is simple enough, as done here with the Mixed Bunch stamp set, stamped on card stock. The fun (faux) "ric-rac" gives the card a bold pop of color.

HIP TIP: Create this "ric-rac" look with the Scallop Edge Border Punch! Simply punch along one side as usual, then flip over the strip of card stock or patterned paper and line it up exactly opposite of the first scalloped edge.

The gorgeous blossom was created with the new Blossom Punch and the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer  Builder Punch. The larger blossom has two layers, with the top layer given a few quick snips to give the flower super dimension when the petals are slightly bent. The center blossom was punched, then stamped with the same larger flower stamp used previously.

I love the flower stamped on the inside! It's like a little ray of sunshine when you open the card!!

Love a bargain on stamping supplies? (I know, who doesn't - right?) Stampin' Up! has added 55 NEW Clearance Rack items to the Online Store, including a number of punches, dies, and accessories. The items have been discontinued and are available (online only) at clearance prices while supplies last. Visit the Clearance Rack HERE.

Excitement is building for the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog set to debut June 1. Meanwhile, it's almost time to say goodbye to the retiring stamp sets (sniff, sniff). The list will be revealed Sunday, April 15, and I'll be posting the information here - so BE SURE to check back on Sunday.
