Merry Merry Christmas Card + Tag

Christmas Card and Gift Tag Set

This sweet little holiday wreath is one of the images in the Stampin' Up! Happy You Hostess stamp set, which is a terrific all-occasion set. The images are perfect for creating cute tags and cards. This coordinating Christmas card and gift tag will compliment any gift nicely.

Merry Merry Christmas Card

For the card, I've simply layered Cherry Cobbler card stock on a Naturals Ivory card base, and then topped it with a panel of pretty patterned paper from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack.

Hip Tip: The Festival of Prints Paper Stack is actually a pad of 4-1/2" x 6-1/2" sheets - perfect for card making. The papers are double sided for a total of 24 unique designs with several designs well suited for Christmas. The remaining designs are suitable for any occasion with several patterns that will come in handy for masculine cards.

Wreath image focal point detail

The wreath was stamped on Very Vanilla card stock and colored using a Blender Pen. The tiny berries have just a dab of Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details for sparkle. The wreath was cropped using the 1-3/8" Circle Punch and popped up onto two doilies created using the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlet and the Big Shot.

Ribbon, Baker's Twine and a tiny Jewelry Tag

The central panel was tied with Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon before it was placed on the card front. The greeting tag is tied to the larger bow using Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine.

How to make the Jewelry Tag shape longer

Hip Tip: Extend the length of the Jewelry Tag Punch to accommodate longer sentiments. Start with a strip of card stock 3/8" wide. Slide one end into the punch through the opening on the under side of the punch into the punching slot and punch the card stock.

Watercolored Wreath Gift Tag

For the gift tag, I die-cut a tag from Very Vanilla card stock using the Two Tags Bigz Die and the Big Shot and simply added a strip of patterned paper left over from making the greeting card. The same wreath image was stamped and colored again, this time cropped using the 1-1/4" Circle Punch and layered onto a Lucky Limeade 1-3/8" Circle. These were attached to a die-cut doily and then popped up on the tag using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The tag is simply finished with a small bit of Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon tied with Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine.

Happy Monday - hope your week is great and includes time for creativity!
