Playing Dress Up: Congrats Card

Stampin' Up! Dress Up Framelits Congratulations Card

Remember the Oscar Party Glimmer Dress from earlier this week? I've created another version of the dress with Champagne Glimmer Paper (my favorite).

This congratulations card would be perfect for a wedding card, anniversary card, or another special occasion.

Are you wondering how to create a long gown using the Stampin' Up! Dress Up Framelit Dies?  It's very easy to do.

How to use the Dress Up Framelits to die-cut a long gown

Cut a strip of card stock that is 2-1/8" wide. Slide one end of the card stock strip over the bottom of the framelit, while the remaining card stock is under the framelit (as shown in the photo above on the left). Run the die through the Big Shot on Tab 2 of the Multipurpose Platform. This will die-cut the top and sides of the dress.

Next, rearrange the card stock so it goes under just the bottom of die to create the scallop (hem). You can make the dress as long as you want - just keep in mind the dimensions of your card or project.

You might also be wondering how to create that handsome tuxedo. Many thanks to the wildly talented and awesome Karen Burniston, the creator of the Pop 'n Cuts Dies. You can download a free tuxedo template on her blog.

Karen is a papercrafter who specializes in pop ups and interactive elements. She designs for Sizzix and designed the exclusive Stampin' Up! Pop 'n Cuts dies featured in the Spring Catalog (page 32).  To see  how the Pop 'n Cuts dies work together, here is a video by the creator herself:

These dies are soooo clever! And of course, Stampin' Up! designed the adorable All Dressed Up stamp set to coordinate.  If you're like me and want the whole shebang, be sure to take advantage of the All Dressed Up Bundle (stamp set + framelit dies) to save 15%.
