There's Only One You

Stampin' Up! Vintage Verses Stamp Set

I haven't played along with any challenges for awhile, so this weekend seemed like a good time.

Over at Freshly Made Sketches, they offered up a cute, simple sketch which happened to work in nicely with the current SUO Challenge (clean & simple Valentines) as well.

This also gave me a chance to play with several new products from Stampin' Up! The Honeycomb Embossing Folder is paired with Primrose Petals Core'dinations card stock to create the background. Rather than sand over the embossed image, I used a Whisper White Craft Pad to define the lines and soften the hue of the paper for extra contrast.

The cute envelope tag is an idea borrowed from the Sale-a-bration brochure, using the Scallop Envelope folded with the scallop flap tucked in and opened ended. Such a clever way to use the die-cut! That stunning paper is the Natural Composition Specialty Designer Series Paper. This heavy-weight paper is ideal for creating boxes, envelopes, and other die-cut projects and is already clear embossed with 6 beautiful designs including a trendy woodgrain look.

The larger heart, die-cut with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits, was actually left over from a previous project and worked perfectly for this card. Use those scraps, right?!

The sentiment is from the Vintage Verses stamp set, which you can get free with a qualifying purchase during Sale-a-bration. I fussy cut the image, attached it to a small scallop circle and popped it up with a Dimensional.

Football or commercials?
Did you watch the big game? I know lots of fans were glued to the game (when the lights were on, that is) and the half-time show, but just as many folks tune in just for the commercials. That's hubby & me unless a favorite team is playing. I was a bit disappointed in this years batch of ads. Seems like in past years they were much more fun and creative. What did YOU think?

xoxo

(Have to agree with you on the SB ads, with only about two exceptions, they ranged from disappointing to downright tasteless.)

    1. Thanks much, Cindy! (And, yes, most of the ads were pretty UNremarkable, weren't they?)
