Today is National Pet Owners Day and I thought it would be the perfect time to introduce you to my "crew" of helpers around here. I think both of these girls have made an appearance before on the Stampingville blog, but it's time for a proper introduction - don't you think?
This is Lexi - the sweetest, most gentle little thing. She is fairly calm most of the time, although she does get the occasional wild streak tearing through the house at 90+ miles an hour. Now and then, she also likes to hide around a corner and jump out just as you walk by. Like when someone jumps out and says "boo" to scare you. It's the cutest thing ever. I still don't think she's forgiven us for bringing home the "baby".
This is Shelby - the "baby". She's a little spitfire, although she's finally, at age seven, starting to tone it down a notch! She's a bit obstinate at times and then turns on the charm for a full-on lovey-dovey session. When she moved in (as a kitten), she immediately took over the place and it's been that way ever since.
The girls love to help me with all kinds of special projects and tasks - like sorting out orders from Stampin' Up!
Or helping me organize my shelves and storage areas.
They are especially helpful with holiday decorating - the shiny garlands are real favorites - but pretty much they like it all.
And Shelby loves to come supervise the crafting sessions, especially when I'm working on shoebox swaps.
It's not all work for these girls though. They always take time to stop and smell the roses. Err, maybe that's palm fronds. (Actually, that's a Bird of Paradise in the large pot!)
And lounging by the pool catchin' some rays is a daily activity (weather permitting).
If I need any taste testers, consider it done.
But after a long day at the "office", there's just one thing left to do:
Take a well deserved nap!

p.p.s. Losing power right before you hit the "publish" button on your blog is one of those throw your hands up in the air and shrug it off moments. Sorry for the lateness of today's post. And yay for having power again!
