There's really nothing wishy-washy about today's project! I love creating 3x3 note cards and, well, who doesn't love washi tape? So I was pretty excited to see the current Friday Mashup Challenge. It was easy to "mash it up" and use washi tape on my cute 3x3 birthday cards.
Mini 3x3 cards are quick and easy to create and they are great to have on hand for a variety of uses: gift tags, love notes for your honey, tucked in a lunchbox for the kiddos ... the list goes on!
By using bold, bright colors and patterned washi tape (rather than floral), my cards will be appropriate for any age or gender.
I was able to create this set of 3x3 cards in just a few simple steps:
- Apply washi tape strips directly to the front of the card base.
- Cut a banner panel, flag one end, punch the heart shape, and attach to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
- Stamp the greetings onto strips of cardstock, flag the ends, and adhere to the card.
One of the many things I like about washi tape is that you can mix and match so easily. I used washi tape from three different collections to create this batch of birthday note cards. (See which ones I used below.)
It was fun to play around with the washi tape for a little bit of variation and that's when I discovered this:
By lining up the chevron pattern washi tape just right, it creates this cool geometric pattern!
Don't you just love when something you didn't really plan turns out to be a happy accident?!
Have a great week!
