Last week, I shared a cute rainy day fox card from our team "shoebox swap" and I promised to share more of our creations. Today, I have four terrific cards from our swap with easy to create ideas and simple techniques.
The pretty Thank You card above features swaths of bold Stampin' Up! In Colors created using the Work of Art stamp set. The delicate butterflies are embossed and die-cut with just one pass through the Big Shot using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit.
This flowery "cheers" card cleverly uses the Blossom Punch to create leaves for the flower blossom. The sentiment, from the limited-time Good Greetings stamp set, fits perfectly inside the Word Window Punch and layers on the coordinating Modern Label Punch.
Simple layering brings the images on this Thanks card to life. Stamping a few extra shells (from the By The Seashore stamp set) for hand-cutting allows them to be layered and even popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals for texture that pops.
Simple masking and sponging create a beautiful background for this silhouette-look all occasion card. While the Beauty of the Season stamp set is featured in the Holiday Catalog, it contains a generic greeting for any time of year in addition to a holiday greeting. The stamped image was simply colored using a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to achieve a silhouette appearance.
I love using holiday themed stamps for non-holiday occasions and vice-versa. It's such a great way to stretch your supplies and think outside the box creatively.
Have you done this with any stamp sets from Stampin' Up!? Let me know in the comments - I'd love to know if you have a favorite set you use interchangeably throughout the year.
p.s. More of our shoebox swap projects coming soon, including holiday themed cards and 3-D projects. Be sure to check back - you will love these ideas.
