Create a gift straight from the heart with this lovely boxed set of greeting cards. Yesterday, I shared the set of all occasion cards I created using the new Stampin' Up! In Colors. Today, I'll show you how I boxed them up to give as a gift.
I created a simple box bottom from Mint Macaron cardstock using this basic template:
Next, I created a lid for the box from a Window Sheet and used the same basic template. However, when I scored the window sheet, I scored just shy of the 1-1/2" mark to make it just a wee bit bigger than the box bottom for a snug fit.
- When scoring the window sheet, you'll need to use heavy pressure and may need to score several times to get a good score line.
- I used Glue Dots to assemble the lid (flaps). While they do show, it's the least obvious. If you have some type of adhesive sheets, you might use that cut to the size of the flaps.
This box has plenty of room for the five greeting cards plus handmade envelopes with room to spare. Based on the thickness of these cards, the box will accommodate 6 or 7 cards + envelopes.
After filling the box with the set of greeting cards, I first wrapped it with a length of White Jute Ribbon, followed by Mint Macaron Dotted Lace Trim tied in a pretty bow.
To create the tag, I die-cut a large tag from Tip Top Taupe cardstock using the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies and the Big Shot.
I stamped the Definitely Dahlia background stamp onto the tag using VersaMark ink, followed by a sprinkling of White Embossing Powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool.
I created little banner strips of various lengths from Silver Glimmer Paper, Watermelon Wonder cardstock and Tip Top Taupe cardstock. The "FOR YOU" sentiment (Crazy About You stamp set) was stamped using Tip Top Taupe ink on the smallest banner before layering the banners together on the tag.
The finishing touch on the tag was a large Metal Rimmed Pearl - a new product this year from Stampin' Up! (swoon). If you like this type of embellishment, you will love these pearls. They come 24/package in three sizes, are adhesive-backed, and they are so pretty. LOVE these pearls!
I hope you enjoyed this gift boxed set of cards - it was really fun to create and a certain someone is going to love receiving this handmade gift. If you have any questions, please leave a comment below.
